(More customer reviews)This is an outstanding product! Works best on a dark fabric, as in daylight it basically appears black, but that would be a matter of taste. But at night, when hit by light, it's like it has its own batteries! The photo really gives you a good idea of its appearance in a headlight beam. Very lightweight & flexible; sews on very easily. I bought it for my teenage daughter's "messenger bag." She didn't want a backpack with already sewn-on reflectors (e.g. LL Bean), and coats with reflective patches were out ("not cool," but I also wanted something she would use every day - well, she has to take her books, but doesn't always need a jacket). I needed something that would blend in with the bag & strap material (teens are so conscious of appearance!) and not "stand out" when it wasn't needed, yet blaze out for safety. We also wanted something "passive" that she wouldn't forget when running out of the house to catch the school bus or have to turn on. This is PERFECT. She's happy, we're happy; she's safe. Outstanding product. There's also enough that when this bag wears out, we have plenty more to do another bag (or two). And, to top it off, the merchant was excellent. Received it even faster than estimated, as advertised, well packed and in perfect condition. If I needed more, I'd buy again in a second!

Motorcycle Reflective Safety Tape - Black Sew-On Stealthy Satin Black during the day blends with dark clothing, but turns bright, for visibility and safety at night.
This kit contains 48 inches of 1" wide, 48 inches of 2" wide, and 24 inches of 4" wide Black Reflective Fabric. In all, 240 square inches of bright nighttime visibility. Material is a blend of 35% cotton, and 65% polyester. It's soft, washable, easy manageable in cutting, slitting and sewing. It can easily be cut into strips or pieces, any shape, and sewn to shirts, jeans, jackets, and even leather.
This tape is machine washable up to 105oF (warm) and can be machine dried, however, to maximize its life, we recommend washing on gentle cycle and use of a low temperature dryer setting, or line drying. Be Seen, Be Safe!
How This Material Reflects LightAmanet Reflective Tapes and Stickers contain a layer of microscopic lenses coated onto the surface. An auto's lights hit this and the bright light will shine back to the driver's eyes, making you visible from a very long distance away. The best way to test this at home is to put the reflective material at approximately 20 feet away, flat against a wall, at eye level, directly in front of the sticker or tape. For testing once installed, put the headlights of an auto at approximately 200 to 300 feet directly behind the bike, on a level road. At just 10 feet away you won't see the brightest reflection because the angle of the headlight-reflector-eye is too large (See the illustration below). In the real world 10 to 20 feet away is too close for a car to first notice you and stop. The reflective tape or sticker is designed so an auto can see you and your bike hundreds of feet away.
